My mistake Annette.  Will make the switch.  Thanks.

Speaking of the '63 Echo, if anyone has a spare copy of that year book, I would gladly pay for it, including postage.  Somewhere along the way, my copy disappeared, and I would like to have it 'for old times sake'.

Can't replace all the comments my classmates wrote in there, but that's the breaks.

Hi Lorne --

We have an extra 1963 Echo which I will mail to you the next time we are in the U.S. -- let me know your mailing address -- thanks !

Ron

Thanks, Ron.  That's very nice of you.  I remember my mother used to have a post office box in Porthill.  She could mail me a letter on Saturday, and I'd get it here in California on Monday.  Don't think that works anymore.  Stockton is a city of over 300,000, but all the mail put into the system goes to Sacramento for sorting, even if it's addressed to another Stockton address.

I'd be happy to pay you for the book and/or the postage.  My mailing address is: 9215 Valley Drive, Morada, CA 95212.

It's great to see 'your group' using the reunion site, and still keeping in touch.  It's a little soon, but we'll see if we can get their in 2017 for the next reunion. As you may know, I managed The Thin Red Line for a while back in the 60s, so I'd love to see Dennis and Jim again.

Lorne

Just to let everyone know, Ernie Naccarato passed away May 10, 2016 in Trail.  He was living in a care facility there.

Sorry to hear about Mr. Naccarato. He was a great guy and a dedicated teacher.

Thank you, Annnette, for that update.

I always appreciated Mr.Naccarato. We often would have a short chat when we would see each other in Cranbrook....enjoyed his big smile....We all are "making memories". A great Teacher too....

Very appropriate.  We had a wide variety of teaching styles at PCSS.  Mr Naccarato was one of the best.  I still have a leather shaving kit bag he gave me at graduation.  Sorry he couldn't be at any of the reunions we had in the last 20 years or so.

Thanks Annette, for letting us know of Ernie’s passing - and thanks Linda, Herb, Cathy, Jessie, & Lorne – I agree with your comments. Mr. Naccarato was one of my favourite teachers.

I actually came onto this site twice, on two different days without being able to bring myself to say anything about Ernie’s passing; & I wasn’t sure why. Then I mentioned him to my wife, Stella; and I realized I needed to say more than just a brief condolence.

Mr. Naccarato was not only a good teacher. He caused me to think more deeply about some things. I can actually still remember some of the particular things we did or studied in a couple of the courses he taught; and I remember these things with some emotion, because I guess he made a real difference in my life.

Ernie was a real character. It is good to think back on it all; but his passing does bring real sadness. It is hard to see people like Ernie leaving – maybe partly because I never, ever said one word to him after I left high school (or maybe even while I was in high school, other than what was necessary?) I, like many others I believe, take many people and things in life for granted.

Yes. Ernie was one of the good ones; and for me, even maybe one of the great ones.

I often thought of Ernie Naccarto while I was teaching.  I admired his style very much and felt that he cared about his students, even the shy awkward ones.  He was truly a teaching treasure.

So sorry to hear about Ernie Naccarato -  he was a great teacher, coach for the bowling club and open to suggestions.  Rest in peace chief!  Sincerely Alice Lines (Embree)

Your post made me realize that Mr. Naccaratto was one of the teachers who influenced me in life, in many ways.  That's his legacy, to have helped shape the young people he taught.

Ernie Naccarato was one of the great high lights of my school years, beside my mother he was the only one who realized I a had a learning problem. The learning tricks and studying methods he taught me were to late for high school, but they sure helped when I went into university as an adult student -- of course by then everyone knew about dyslexcia. Of course I still can't spell worth a dam, but who cares. For all of us who had the privledge to be one of his students there is sadness at his leaving, but joy in having known him. And he is probably up stairs telling St. Peter that the library needs rearranging and why isn't there more Shakespear?.

Does anyone else remember Ernie talking about a camping trip he and some pals took as teenagers? He told us about taking his mother's well loved cast iron frying pan with her strict instructions about how to care for it. I often think about him whenever I use some of my own cast iron cook ware. It was always fun to run into him over the years, he was one of the good guys for sure!

I'm working hard to convince my classmates from the PCSS Class of '63 to attend your reunion in September, 2017.  I've lost 5 cousins and a mother-in-law in the last 2 years, so I'd like to see people I haven't seen in a long time. Our class didn't go through PCSS in a vacuum - we knew and even dated people from 'younger' classes.  Would be good to see them again. As Phillip said a few months ago, you tend to take things for granted, especially when you're young.

Can I respectfully suggest that the committee extend an official invitation to the Class of '63?  We have our reservations at the Ramada already.

Sandra Shunter (Koochin) (1964)

This may be a very presumptive suggestion as I'm not doing the work but, why not include everybody from 1960 on...if you can find them? I think we all understand what Lorne is saying....our time is finite.

The 2017 Class Reunion of PCSS organizing committee expanded to 4 years and our list expanded from 384 to 566 plus spouses.

Our 2014 attendance was 240.

The final count will not be known until summer of 2017 and at that time “guests” may be allowed.

Our planned facility is the Creston Room in the CDCComplex and if we exceed 300 to 350 we would have to move to the Curling Arena or the Hockey Arena which are not preferred choices.

Your organizing committee will discuss these suggestions at their next meeting on November 17

Ron

It's been snowing here in Fort St. John BC for the past several days with temperatures hovering around -4C. My oldest son, Ian 24 ( now a high school teacher at NPSS), is engaged to be married December 28th 2016 to Kimberly Gulivich whose family are long time residence of FSJ. This may delay my return to Creston on a longeer term basis, however my wife Christine & I will be there for the 2017 Sept reunion. My thanks to the reunion committee for your work.

Thank you to the planning committee for all your hard work. The last reunion was great and sounds like this one will be even better.

Great to see classmates on the message forum talking about the upcoming PCSS Class Reunion.  The reunion committee will be working hard to meet our goal of another spectacular event in September of 2017.  We are looking forward to seeing again the classmates we saw in 2014, along with others who were unable to attend at that time. The addition of the 1967 students will bring renewed energy to the occasion and if space permits, we will welcome other PCSS classmates who are interested in attending the party.

My sister said many of her classmates have passed away, even since their last reunion. Including earlier years would be like a family reunion for me as I am the "baby" haha.
