Jack was a good friend - those of living in Erickson had something in common.  I remember him as being full of life  Unfortunately he didn't get a chance to fulfill his potential.

Another casualty of the taverns on the "Porthill-Kingsgate triangle".  I was waiting for some friends at the Strawberry Inn that night. Jack and some young men from Cranbrook invited me to go with them "around the triangle".  I told them I was waiting for some others, and would probably see them there.  All we saw was a hole in the guard rail.

I remember the day I learned of the accident and Jack's death. It was very sobering to hear that  he and others had been killed. We were the same age, and it really rocked me. He was a good looking young man, and I believe worked hard on the family farm. I have not thought of him in years. Thanks Lorne for the reminder.

Just talking about this horrible accident with some friends.this week.   Couldnt remember the others with him.   He was only 17yrs old.  . So many young fellas from Creston used to do the "triangle" Imagine, 17 year olds being let into those bars.  At that time, there were at least 5-6  bars, in the "loop" .
